Hello All,

I recently got an EOS 500D and considering a Tamron AF 24-135MM (Positive review). Can anyone tell me if it works well on an entry level DSLR Camera like the 500D? Am really new to DSLR camera and still learning everyday, thanks to all in advance.

It would work, but I'd rather you get a Sigma 18-125mm if you're looking for something around that focal length range.

Hi Cartman,

May i know why do you say so?

You have a crop sensor body, due to the crop factor (1.6x) 24mm is quite tight already, there's not much wide angle left over. If this is what you want then go for it. You can try: set your kit lens to about 24mm and check what you can see in the view finder. That's the widest you will get.
The suggested Sigma still covers the wide angle range of your kit lens.

Will Canon 18-200 helps?
