Erm.. there's lots of search engines u know...

Anyway, you got the wrong settings for 4R photos. Please cut and paste this to a word document. They will be useful to you. (All settings in 300DPI).

2 3R 3.5" x 5" 7:10 1050 x 1500

4 5R 5" x 7" 5:7 1500 x 2100
5 6R 6" x 8" 3:4 1800 x 2400
6 8R 8" x 10" 4:5 2400 x 3000
7 S8R 8" x 12" 2:3 2400 x 3600
8 10R 10" x 12" 5:6 3000 x 3600
9 S10R 10" x 15" 2:3 3000 x 4500
10 A5 148mm x 210mm 1748 x 2480

300 dot per inch (dpi) will give photo quality

formula:

1 inch = 300 dot to give photo quality
so 8R is 8 inches x 10 inches which gives ( 8 x 300 ) dots x ( 10 x 300 ) dots
= 2400 x 3000
= 7.2 megapixel

This formula is a great help!

Mini labs based on 300ppi. If you resized to fit to the size, you must let the lab know not to re-size, otherwise lab printing will be "size-to".

Reverse the formula

to have photo quality, you need to print in 300 dpi

so just divide the resolution by 300
= (5xxx X 3xxx ) / 300
= 5xxxx/300 inches x 3xxx/300 inches
e.g. 5000 x 3000 can print up to 16.667 inches x 10 inches photo quality (300 dpi)

Of course you can print lower quality like 150 dpi and you can print bigger size.
