Heard from radio and read from internet that there's such a phenomenon this weekend???
Anyone knows more detail how and timings to watch in Singapore??

Thanks!

Yes, it is called perigee.

I already posted this up in kopitiam with an informational video. Go look there.

Thanks!!

By the time I got home last night moon was directly overhead. Then got brilliant idea. Use Skyview app found that at 3.30am it will be at a comfortable angle from my apartment. So set alarm at 3.30am. Alarm rang, got up. Sigh... Whole sky all clouds. Fail.

Then kena scolding from commander-in-chief that I disturbed her sleep. Double fail :(

you still have tomorrow night tho :)

This is what I managed to get this evening (4 May 2012):

Using my Nikon D7000 and the Sigma 150-500mm:

And using my Nikon V1 + FT1 + Nikon TC17EII + Nikkor 300mm f4:

Caveat: I'm not the best PS person in the world. I am sure the pictures could have been rendered better. Oh well...

PS: Commander-in-Chief decided to indulge me... she sat in the car playing games on her iPhone while I was struggling with all these.

Just took the following: D7000 + Sigma 150-500mm @ 500mm, ISO-100, f7.1, 1/125sec, WB 4000K. This is what it looks like (JPEG) straight out from the camera.

After Photoshop, this is what I got:

After PP one is amazing, UncleFai! I totally forgot about this, because my Commander-In-Chief demanded something else for me to do..
Hopefully tonight I can still see something.

Thank you for sharing!

Tonight may be got chance.

I waited until 2am last night and finally, the cloud cover broke and I managed to capture these shots. They are not as great as UncleFai's.

This was my shot on 5th May, around 10pm. Waited 1.5 hours for the cloud to clear.
