Sun Rise, Sun Set techniques?

can anyone advise on this?
taking sun rise or sun set shots?
prolong shuuter?

i usually use f8 or smaller aperture and I spot-meter on a gray-ish cloud when i don't have the gray card.

Use a tripod, meter with the sun just outside the viewfinder, then exposure lock and re-compose to take your shot.

Depending on what film you use, you may want to bracket 1/3 stops to see what effect you like most.

For sunsets/sunrise, some people like to use orange or graduated filters for effect.

Also be sure to leave ample time for setting up!
