Stupid Q: On tripods & planes

Anyone know if it is ok to go up a plane with my tripod half sticking out of the front compartment of my bagpack? :bsmilie:

If the airlines wants to find trouble and your tripod exceeds the size limits, doing that will draw attention to it and prompt checks. That said, usually they shut one eye but they also do have the right to make you check it in. I usually fit my tripod into check in.

nvm i repacked, was told they consider it a potential weapon.
