On-Location Lighting & Strobist Essentials

Introduction
There is a common misunderstanding that on-location lighting is ONLY about lighting at the outdoors. Some even say strobist = outdoor lighting, which is incorrect.

Strobist way of lighting is an extension of the traditional on-location lighting, studio lighting. This workshop will show you the basics and fundamentals of on-location lighting and how it is applied to both indoor and outdoor.

This is a 1.5-day workshop. Which covers the basics of lighting using artificial lighting, lighting setup and the concept of lighting keys. With a firm grasp of how lighting works, attendees will proceed to understand the fundamentals of on-location lighting, the techniques and the know-how.

All knowledge learnt will be reinforced with practicals and hands-on so that attendees can have a better understanding and will remember what was being taught.

The structure of the workshop is as follows,
# Lesson 1 - Foundation Knowledge & Hands-on
# Lesson 2 - Fundamentals & Indoor Practical Session
# Lesson 3 - Outdoor Practical and Reinforcement Session (with model)

Who should attend?
This workshop introduces new users and oldhands of SLR/DSLR to on-location lighting, both indoors and outdoors. The aim is to give the attendees a firm understanding of lighting concepts before they embark on their journey of on-location photography.

Many a times, trial and error becomes the mantra of many users, but with a good understanding of the underlying concepts and knowledge, more time can be devoted to making better pictures than trying to make better pictures.

Fundamental Knowledge + Good understanding of Concepts + Hands-on = More efficient use of time

So, how is it done?
This workshop will be conducted in a interactive manner, whereby attendees will interact with the instructor and fellow attendees. There will be hands-on on the lighting equipment and lighting set ups. There will also be practical sessions.

Proper course materials will be provided.

What does it take to enjoy the session?
An opened learning mind, a heart for fun learning moments, and a SLR/DSLR to record the learning.
