Hi I received a few pms asking about studio model shoot FAQ. So I am going to organize studio model shoot specially for newbies. I will try to find some sifu(s) to come along and shoot together with the newbies participants. Note this is not a workshop, not a training, this is just a studio shoot session that a newbie will shoot together with a sifu. Along the way, hopefully the newbie can grasp some basics eg:
- basic communication skill between photog and model
- basic posing technique
- basic composition technique

We will hire a professional model from agency, use studio light for the first half, then use available light for the second half. The cost for newbie participant will be $60. The date will be either a Sat afternoon or a Sun morning.

Anyone interested?

Details here:

You don't like C730 ah? :(

In fact if the digicam has a manual mode that allows you to set the aperture and shutter, then it should be ok.

At last - a session of studio shoot for newbies. I am interested - using 10D.

Prefer saturday though. Astin: what range of lenses is good for studio?

hi astin! tis session sounds good. rather than having 2 go along with the experts & act like a sotong. count me in if its a saturday. thanx!

No sotong in photography but keep learning - The key to success.

It depends on your style. To have a easier start, I recommend a standard to mid tele focal length, in other words, 50mm-85mm range, either zoom or fixed focus are ok.

won't hold up, cuz when the time's up, the timer will inform you and the next one will go. :)

4th Oct ? 2-6? Isn't that the same timing as the Model shoot in the other thread? :what:

Yes same time same place. You do your model shoot, after that let the newbies do the newbies shoot. Everybody will get their 2x10minutes.
Boss, ok or not?

NOooooooooooooooooooooo cannot.

But.. if you lend me ur D100 + 50mm f/1.4, I'll say yes :bsmilie:

Shouldn't be a prob, think also hard to fill up the rest of the slots. Can I be a 'sifu' to the newbies and then I can shoot 2 more times? :bsmilie:

Cheers. :)
