Last month, whie I was in Tokyo, I saw some pretty girls dressed in luminous pink and green in Akihabara giving out brochures for a art gallery too....
Tweek, you are right!!! Many a time, they will just pass you a pack of tissue and it has a cardboard inside that shows the "social escort" contact. But sometime, you will receive some "clean" advertisement inside the pack.
haha when I was there some years back I got a load of those tissue packs, but didn't do anything funny cos I was a good sec 3 boy then and moreover, teacher-in-charge was watching....Originally posted by lewfs

Din know that they are still doing it after all these years. This kind of publicity must be very effective!!
Everything in Japan is expensive, including advertising. So I think this is the cheapest (not such is effective or not) way to sell their "product" !
