Somewhere in heartland
i mean, cos it is going to EOL or already EOL...

cos my current D70 kinda faulty already, so wonder if move up to D90 is a wise choice...

or shld i save up even more to go up to D7000...

note: i am juz a slightly advanced novice user.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the D90. In fact you may get some good deals (say 99$ battery grip from Challenger) because of this, if you are not worried about getting the latest.
Having said that the D7000 is a beast and am absolutely in love with it. ;)

if budget allows go for d7k

if really no choice d90 is your best fren =D

my 2 cents: if photography is not your bread and butter, then don't chase after the latest model and higher pixel count.

You're better off saving the money and get a D90 plus more (or better) glasses.

I see lots of D90 being sold at a steep discount in B&S with warranty left if you don't need it brand new. I'm tempted to pick one up myself to get my god-daughter interested in photography :)

I'm a D70 user. No fault as yet...
if budget doesn't allows, still go for d7k. ;)

D90 is really good enough to get u started .. If u want no flash photography just go for fx with lots of prime, d7k is neither here nor there ..

Btw yrs ago ppl with d70 produce fascinating photos, so dun bother chasing the latest equipment, it never enough. Thats the reason i always remind my self whenever i want to get new toy .. Hehe it doesnt always work cos i buy on impulse .. Haha

Buying a D90 is a choice that cannot be wrong.
But if budget permits, get D7000 instead.

well If budget Allows D7000 is the way to go

I just Switch over from D60 to D7000 Just Days ago

around 80 k shutter count on the D60 lol

Switched from the D70 to D90 with some top up which I find well worth it...some cons and many pros I must say...

As d90 has no af tune, some fast lens which used to be accurate on d70 became less so on d90. The fast sync of 1/500 for pop up flash was handy, battery life was super looonnng...haha...oso 1 8gb cf card can store >1k raw...
As for the pros, u shd know it...haha...well worth it...

When you are advanced, then go to D7K...

Didn't know these. :)
I got to know the cons of D7k over D5k when i upgraded. Cache.
Love the camera though. :)

yes, go rob a bank, sing at orchard road, try your luck at casino or something. Go for what is best for you.

When u really ' advanced ' your photography skill ...... u will go for low end camera instead .. Cos u know It can produce any pic u have on mind without blowing ur pocket and tiring ur neck.

Unless u mean, advanced in term of knowing how to the camera instead of taking better photo ..

the D7000 is an upgrade from the D90.
getting the newer one is the most logical choice.

of course, the D90 is still an excellent cam.

Dunno what your 'advanced' means. I've seen pros retain and use lower end/previous gen cameras. But I've nvr seen one downgrade their setup becos they think they shoot the same with a lower end camera.

Rem one bro made a comment abt starting to use a D3s then downgrade steadily till turn pro and use a pinhole camera?
