National Museum of Singapore returns with Spot & Shoot 2009 Our Landscape this July 2009. Held in conjunction with the museums The Image of Our Landscape exhibition, this programme is targeted at youths and adults aged 13 years and above.
Here is your chance to rediscover Singapores varied landscapes by capturing your personal representations of our little sunny island with your camera. Record scenes of change and development, history and gain, or loss, of heritage, and compile them into a photographic portfolio of 8 of your best shots. Begin your personal journey into the familiar and the unfamiliar with this competition, and make this a meaningful endeavour for yourself, friends and family.
The submission duration for all entries as follows:
Student category is from 7 July 2009 7 August 2009. The theme for this category is School scapes and it is open to all Secondary 1 5 students studying in Singapore. Students must capture images of what their school/ institution means to them. These may be images of iconic features of their school/ institutions history, heritage and/or landscape(s).
Open category is from 10 August 2009 - 22 September 2009. The theme for this category is 'Our Landscape', opens to residents of Singapore aged 15 and above. Participants must capture images of what Singapore means to them. These may be images that further represent current structural, social, cultural and/or historical landscapes.
We are inviting you to join us in this programme which is addressing very important issues on national identity and heritage. Attached the information about spot and shoot and below emailer for forwarding purposes.

2nd: $2,500 cash
3rd: $2,000 cash
Merit: $ 800 cash
Student Category
1st: $2,000 cash
2nd: $1,500 cash
3rd: $1,000 cash
Merit: $ 500 cash
In addition to cash prizes, winners will have selected images from their portfolios displayed at the National Museum of Singapore for a specially curated exhibition. Participants will also get a chance to share their representations of Singapore which will be included as part of the National Museum of Singapores archival collection.
