i know minimalism is subjective, but only #3 is minimal here for me.

what i consider minimal:

#1
#2
#3
#4

anyways, eikin hasn't been around for a while, but he is really good at this sort of thing, it is sad that most of the newer members did not have the pleasure of viewing his work:

soulFLY,

Can you share with me the concept of minimalistic?

Since I may have to start bring my own props to the nature, it may be handy ...;p (joking lah..)

Hi WK,

Thank you for the info and am still learning and using my eyes to look into things that is minimal and yes, #2 does not justify under minimal but posting it to have comments.

#1, if I exclude the trees and bushes @ BG, I reckon it can be consider minimal.

Thanks for the links provided and yes, been looking at the work done by many over in Flickr.

Cheers...;)

Actually bro night86mare, if you have been shooting in SG coastal areas for a long time, I would say soulfly's work are pretty minimalist I must say. Hehe... ;)

no problem.

you can always cheat a little with cloning. if you go closer in #2, move away that thing to the right of the tyre, it can be minimal too. just a tyre, with the horizon. :)

anyways, like hazmee said, not so easy to be minimal in singapore. go punggol, got the silly cranes in the background. minimalism is so much easier when you have less human-made elements that can't be avoided.

Sorry guys if this did not turn out to be minimal as it is....still learning though..

Hi Lomo,

Image taken at Upper Seletar Reservoir...

Hi Esther,

Hmmm..concept of minimal...emphasizes on simplicity in form with using basic shapes and monochromatic palettes.

Its really hard as my eye is not trained to see things as simple as it is...**** eye la....:bsmilie:

the last one is cool,

i am not using the best of screens, no calibration either, but it looks to me like you can afford to dial down the exposure here by perhaps half a stop.

It is really really hard to isolate the subject from the BG as everyone agreed, no clear horizon on SG coast...:bsmilie:

Here below for sharing the focal length I have used to shot:

#1: ~55mm (std zoom lens)
#2: 10mm (UWA lens)
#3: 70mm (tele len)
#4: 12mm (UWA lens)

cheers!

Thanks WK!

I have tried reduce half stop but seems ok but looking at the histrogram; its looks ok for the original image...(my screen not calibrated as well but normally ill refer to the histrogram..:D)

As for the last image, I did some cloning and stuff, pretty tediuos and took awhile to finish it...
