Hi,

I took a picture of the colourful spiral stairs in Bugis. Wonder whether the composition works. It was slanted to show interesting perspectives. The shot was taken under the following camera settings.

Focal : 30mm
Aperture : F6.3
Shutter : 1/3200
metering : Matrix

Enjoy, C & C welcome.

hmmz.. is it juz mi or is the focus a little off? seems a tad shaky.
the slanted angle is a slight different view, but it's not all that interesting? as in pple can still tell it's a spiral stairs wif a slanted view. a little too obvious if u ask mi.;)
the pic also seems juz a slight overexposed.

hi, my 2c for your post:

1. shake causing OOF
2. suggest to crop the picture to exclude the walls and the exteme left flight of stairs so that your subject (stairs) looks more focused

keep shooting! ;)

Thank you for your comments.
Hmm, I wonder if it is caused by my shake cos the shutter is really fast.

I agree with you that the composition is nothing really interesting. In fact, I think the only consideration for me is just to fit as much spirals into the frame. should improve on it.

Thanks anyway.

Cropping is a great idea. Might have been too greedy to include everything.
Thanks a lot. I'll be posting some more pictures. Please comment on them too.

Colour might have been a more effective compositional tool.

One of the stairs is red. Try contrasting that against the blue sky.
