I happen to chance upon this and I thought fellow Clubsnappers may be keen to take a look.

SOP or School Of Photography Singapore is a new photography school and what sets it apart are the instructors. Alan Lim (http://www.alanlimstudio.com), who was formerly with The Straits Times (whom I am a big fan of) is one of the instructors and I can honestly say, is one of the best in town.

Meanwhile, SOP is running a photography competition over here: http://www.sops.sg/event/sops-first-point-shoot-contest and budding photographers are most welcome to join.

In fact, I think the top prize may help you expand your knowledge of photography so I reckon that is a pretty sweet deal. Coupled with the fact that your submitted shot may end up being chosen for a exhibition makes it a bigger incentive to join. :)

So for those who are keen, do pop by their Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/SOPSG?v=wall) or their website and look around. :)

Best Regards,
WG

I am contemplating between taking a course with SOPS or PSS. PSS has an advantage on being established decades before SOPS. May I know what is the main selling point of SOPS (that makes it stands out)? Thank you so much.

Dear All,

SOP is organising a course this coming Saturday (12 Marc 2011) at their studio with Kevin Ou (http://www.kevinouphoto.com/) as their guest instructor.

For those in the know, Kevin was recently interviewed by ST on how he came about his success this should be one of those courses budding photographers who wishes to take his or her portfolio to the next level.

Hit the link for more details;

Happy Shooting. :)

Hi Tsufy,

How you doing? I'm the founder of SOP. Maybe I can help you with this question. Unlike the rest of the institutions in Singapore, SOP is uniquely recognised coz it's setup by an active professional photographer myself in both commercial & photojournalism fields for 15 years. This is crucial as a photography institution coz I was once a beginner too, therefore I know exactly what the learners need to be fed to become good photographers. With my constantly enriching knowledge and experience I able to design some of the most effective and important curriculums for today's modern photography, oversee all teachings, and even alter the syllabus on the spot, if its necessary.

Our team of all-star instructors are hand picked from a wide field of genre not just by the list of their impressive international awards, but also their good nature and most importantly, their love of sharing their photography knowledge to everyone.

Do check us up on www.sops.sg or contact us at 62260388 and our friendly staff will assist you :)

Cheers,
Alan Lim
