Saw this in Cathay Photo today.

New arrival, Sony 1 Hour Quick Charger $45

Charge 2 Battery in 1 Hours, take up to 4 Battery.

1 Charger + 2 Free 1700MAH Sony Battery.

Auto Charge Cut Off, small and compact.

finally the prices fall...

Well, bought one yesterday from Song Brothers @S$45 SLS 'cause left with lots of Sony rechargable batteries.
Used it last nite, it is at least completed 2 AA and 2 AAA batteries in 2 hrs or so, much better than its last model, take so long time.

Pls note it takes longer for 4 batteries are charged in one go. If only two 1700mah batteries being used, it takes 1 hr plus plus.... as stated " in 1 hr, 80% charged.....", so not really charged in 1 hr.

Pity that it can only handle up to 1700mah.

But its design is very cool and it is very travel friendly, extremely light, lighter than some handphones( see attached).

FYI,pls. thks.

1600mAh battery certainly no problem...... as for 1700 mAh...
according to spec sh not be a issue, juz that it will be charging longer ..... and Sony has no 1800mAh battery in the market yet.

IF U are referring to other brand, I haven't try yet..... not taking risk now. As I only used Sony batteries so far.

fyi pls. thks.

Sorrie I am referring to 1800mAh not 1700mAh....
rephrase my sentence... type too fast....

specs seems quite similar to the Olympus charger I had :) so no need for me to consider too much liao :)

the GP Rapid Power Bank also came out, $56.90 for charger plus 4 piece of 1600 batteries.

but its 2Hr for 2 1600 batteries.

MW all the way! :rbounce:

can this sony charger take in batteries of other brands?
so effectively it takes 3+ hrs to charge 4 AA NimH batteries?

saw the rayvox 1hr charger, has a very big ac-dc adaptor. very heavy, not suitable 4 travelling....

btw, the charger with 2 batteries cost $42 at MS Color. You might be able to bargain a bit too.

MS Colour usually sells things at a higher price can sell it at $42, then I think $40 more like it, inmost places

Not a smart charger ley... Timer base one... sure you people like timer based chargers?

I saw the above Sony charger + 2 1700Mah AA battery at $45 too at Chanllenger Superstore at Funan

also GP charger + 4 x 1300mah AA battery at $19.9...but it is not the quick charger...the quick charger is a bit more expensive

There is another Sony Charger with Auto shut off feature...the design is not as nice as the one above, but it is cheaper, below $40 and come with 4 x 1700mah AA battery and it is a quick charger (2hrs) with auto shut off.

The Casio BC-3HA batt charger/DC adapter not bad also...comes with 4x Casio 1600mAh batt. Can output to 6v or 3.3v DC....and charges 4 x AA batts at 600mA x 4....fully-charge most 1600mAh batt in abt 3 hrs. Quite ex...abt $60 ~ $70.

Still if charging 4 x AA batts..this will be slightly faster due to the 600mA x 4.
