Just saw this tiny beetles resting on my hall floor....get my gear and shoot it. Still not good in lighting...dont know how to avoid the reflection light on the beetle shell.....

Setup:-
D90 + 105mmVR macro lens
ext. flash + diffuser
Subject: Beetle
Size: ~5mm

Nice find. Try to lower flash power and use higher iso to shoot. This will help to fill in lights at darker areas.
