Here is the scenario:
You are doing bird photography on the bird nest. There are two newborn chicks inside the nest. Their mum keeps flying in and out searching for food to feed them. You are in the extreme good mood of shooting. Suddenly, you notice a snake approaching the nest. You know the snake will eat the snake. The female bird (mum) notices too, she making all the noises to try to chase the snake away, but didn’t work.
So what will you do?

If you are a nature lover, you will leave it be. Survival of the fittest and natural selection.

If you are a bird lover, chase away the snake.

If you are a reptile lover, don't do anything.

If you are a chinese, get ready for snake gall bladder soup...;)

Here is the scenario:
You know the snake will eat the snake. So what will you do?

The snake will eat the hatchlings you mean?

Yeah think its best to leave it to Mother Nature to let nature take its course.

pretend to be a mongoose and eat the snake :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Deckard, I have warned you before and you have a knack for posting irrelevant or banal comments here and in other threads in Kopi Tiam. Although this place is for casual chit chats, I would like to request that you refrain from similar postings please.

In nature, animals have very keen sense of smell so if we (humans) gets too near to nest, this is the likely scenario that will happens. Our presence we leave some scent for the smake to find the chicks. Feeling Guilty now? Shoot from a distance, avoid touching anything around the nest at all cost. never never cut or trim and leaf, twigs to get a clearer view of the chicks in the nest. Any also do not stay too long around the nest.

Love nature.. as nature. Do not put the lives of the chicks at risk for the sake of a good photo.

Inform the papa, grand papa birds to come and help fight the snake...

Best is dun disturb the nature ... there is a system, a design, a food chain, food web, population control "Mother Nature" behind the scene...

But in the first place, Man has already disturbed the Nature until earth going to explode already.... so what's more about chasing the snake away?? This type of small act will not help much naturally...

Let them be... and document the process. Gross as it may be, you're not likely to see this type of scenes very often.
