Mhm. I scanned my slides after getting them processed yesterday. I noticed something strange about a strip so I blew it up in photoshop and saw this:

can someone please explain what happened to it? :\

could be scratches on ur slides. Does it happen to other slides or is this the only affected slide? Take it back to the shop and ask them.

heh. happened to some other slides on the same 6-frame strip. i tried cleaning them and scanning again, slightly better so might have been that i touched them accidentally but the big scratch on the left is still there :\

claim compensation from the shop. Is it one of the better known specialised film dev shop?

Have you tried scanning with a different set of slides, it could be that your scanner is dirty or soemthing

Somthing else I thought of, you might want to view your slides through a lightbox and a loupe and see if the scratches are on your slides.

mhm. alright i tried cleaning the slides and scanning again, the smudges on the face became fainter and somewhat unnoticeable (note that the picture's cropped and blown up a lot when i posted it-- just to show the affected area) but the big wad of scratches to the left is still there and I can see it against a light panel. heh. mhm. i'd rather not say which lab..:p not very fair since i'm not sure who or how the scratches got there in the first place.
