Hi all,

I m a newbie. I went around n almost bought the sirui carbon fibre series. As i was bout to pay for my t2004x tripod, i saw the t2005x. As the salesman was bz, i didnt ask much. So end up didnt buy in case make wrong decision.

Read a bit from webbie, realized they r almost the same but 2204 is lighter a bit n can hold a bit heavier load.

Just wondering would anyone buy 2205 then since 2204 is alr lighter n at same price. Seems like no gd reason to buy 2205?

Can anyone share their views? Maybe i can learn smth from ur views. Tks guys!

depends whether if u can tahan the weight. Personally, I'm done with aluminium as the weight is causing backache (I was using Manfrotto 190PROXB)
Switch to a Sirui N1204 for it's weightlessness. the 2000 series is more sturdy with a bit extra weight. However, if you think you can take the load, it's good to get the aluminium as they are more stable and cheaper.

I bought a T2005X and yes it's much lower for my height 5'6" and difficult to use after sometime, as such I bought another T2205X with the correct height for me and the weight of T2205x is 1.2kg for carbon fibre but for Alu will be 1.6kg.

T2205X - minimum packing size is 37 cm
T2204X - minimum packing size is 41 cm
It's a 10% difference in size. Makes it easier to transport in smaller cabin bags.

Have the same problem with the T2005X. Mostly end up sitting down on my knees at the expense of dirtied pants. Should buy kneeguards to wear over pants. :)

I bought the T2205X too due to it's folded size. :)
