I am interested.

I am sorry if this offends anyone.

quite interested
but the last time i went there with kit lens 18-55
photos come out very badly

1. too far from animals
2. monkeys move too fast to snap

got some good shots of orang utans though =D

i THINK YOU NEED A TELEPHOTO LEN ..... SO WILL YOU BE THERE?

Will there be gear for us to try if we only have kit lens ?

Haizz unable to join unless its Sat ....

Well enjoy urself

rather disheartened by my kit-lens already
let me ponder upon it
Don't discount the 18-55 kit lens, it's actually pretty good for it's range. What you need is more focal length. If budget is tight, the EF-S 55-250 IS (~$370) is a good choice-you'll definitely be able to shoot more than just those orang-utans ;) Use shutter priority with auto-ISO to shoot faster moving animals or if the light is poor.

i think i'll be going macro before focal length for now

Hmm... think you choose the wrong kit lens. 18-55mm is only good for landscape.
Think it will be good if you can invest in another lens maybe a 70-200mm at less.
Just my two cent worth of opinion.
