The winners of the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix have been announced.

http://www2.yoursingapore.com/F12009/

However take your time to view the 3rd placed entry. Notice it is not from 2009 or Singapore related Grand Prix event. That is a 2008 Renault. 2009 Renault does not have ING logos, as ING had pulled out on the Friday of the event due to the crashgate scandal.

In the abovementioned picture, from the photographer's point of view above the pitlane, the car is pointing towards the right. However in the Singapore GP, as we have an anti-clockwise circuit, the pitlane should be driven from right to left from a photographer above the pitlane, and hence the car should be pointing to the left.

Do note that I have searched pictures to prove that the car is in the Aerodynamic Spec from the 2008 Italian Grand Prix, based on the Allianz logo on the pitlane, wet weather tyres during pit stop, and a flat main plane on the rear wing. It is not from the 2008 Belgian Grand Prix because the R28 ran with a "W-Shaped" chord on the main plane on the rear wing

Keen eyes. The respective authorities should be informed, whether they will act upon it is another matter. Imagine if people get the whiff of the matter, it will be a disgrace that we don't even know what we are even promoting... :bsmilie:

note tt the front wings of the renault is narrower den the front wheel. 2009 F1 regulations have made it compulsory to that the front wing is as broad/wide as the front wheels. also, there is excessive aero dynamic body work on the rear end of the car. again, 2009 regulation limits e amount of aero dynamic body work. another indication the photo was not taken last year. AND lastly... tt is Alonso in car No. 5. 2009, Alonso is car no. 7.

Lzyshaman, don't need to go into that much detail :)

In 2009, ING pulled out before the SG race, so their logo was replaced by RENAULT instead and Alonso's helmet was blue in 08, red in 09. Enough to kill the pic :)

What do u guys think about the ethics of this photographer? Failed to adhere to the theme of the competition? Up for grabs in third place is a pair of Padang Grandstand tickets.

Btw I have sent an email to the organizer and they have told me thanks for pointing out, they wilm give me a reply to the outcome by mid-week.

wow cool! great observation and hope another deserving winner is chosen.

not right of the person to submit the photo with intent to cheat, but i guess the judges in this instance are more expert on the aspects of photography than on the technical details of the GP. i guess it is best to get someone who has depth of knowledge on both aspects as a judge...
