silver coloured lens body

pardon my ignorance. Recently i was at the zoo and i saw one ang mo with an attached silver bodied lens. the lens body is silverish in color, like spray painted silver, or grey. definitely not the L beige nor chrome or stainless, if you get what i mean. it has the size or probably even larger than the 70-200 2.8L. It is not internal zoom and has 2 red "rubber bands". it was spotted with a petal lens hood of "silver" color as well. from my rough estimate it should have a filter size if at least 77mm. anyone has any idea what lens it that?
 

Silver gaffer tape. There's carbon fibre design too!

yeah could be this beautiful lens - Sony 70-400mm G lens, it comes with Petal hood :)

Beautiful lens...but seeing that semi-glossy silvery finish (literally screaming "scratch me!") I would be kinda paranoid of bringing it out at all....lol! :bsmilie:
