Which is a sharper lens when shoot wide open? The Sigma new 24-60mm f2.8 or the new 24-70 f2.8 EX DG Macro?

Have not tried both lenses. Usually the more exp 1 shd be better lah!! ahaha...

It is true that the exp 1 shd be better because of the glasses used. If you look at the lens brochure, it will show you how many say ED (for nikon only i think) or SD (i think for sigma) Aspherical glasses that they use.

No lah friend....cannot say like that one. My friend bought an Alfa Romeo 147, more expensive than another friend's Toyota Corolla. Alfa Romeo so jialat that he's scrapping it after 3yrs. This one spoil, that one spoil.

There are far more factors affecting the cost of lenses, and there's no doubt that brand names are one of them. Look at the Sigma 105EX and Tamron 90 Di, both are superb macro lenses without the hefty price tags of "original" glass.
