Hi all....

considering a 18-200mm lens and seems like both Sigma and Tamron has the same configuration... hoping to save cost but have tried the Sigma and it looks pretty sharp...

Anyone knows how much difference are there between the 2 lenses??

Should I go cheap with Tamron or should I splurge that extra buck on Sigma?

Both make very good 3rd party lenses. Personally, I like Sigma lenses and I have been very happy with them. :)

for myself i go with tamron.. its better n happy with it..
u shouldn't ask ard which lens is better.. do some research..
it all depends wat u like or need..

Always remember...
dun rush of buying lens & equipment & no regards...
tats d most important thing..

my 2 cents
cheer mate

y u prefer tamron than sigma?

i guess both 3rd party lenses have their own good and bad reviews. It is better to find out what kind of lens you want to get, look for reviews on that lens and compare. There are some lens where one is better than the other and vice versa.

i read the review before...nothing much...my frenzs told me just get which ever is cheaper as their performance is the same...

some say sigma is better. some say tamron is better. so the result is 50:50.
maybe, some r correct, get the cheapest one as there r v similar.
maybe, the main difference is between 1 copy and the next since the specs r almost identical

I personally tried Sigma and found it pretty sharp... havent tried a Tamron (same spec) so I'm not sure... I thought the Tamron is cheaper becoz it's not as good as Sigma but it seems it's pretty much the same... maybe it due to the brand... I'm not sure...

Think I'll settle for a cheaper alternative as I try not to spend too much in this hobby... :)

for me tamron is better, sharper & with the new technology Di2 is better.
go check out the market tamron is more expensive than sigma
