Hi all,

I lifted the below pricing from another thread on this forum. I am interested in some of the lenses in red highlighted below. I wonder if they all have the olympus mounts? Where can I go to check/verify this information online?

Thank you very much in advance!

18-50mm F2.8 EX DC - (TKFoto $800 w/GST) (AlanPhoto $810 w/GST)
18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC

The lenses you are looking for are not available in oly mount. You can contact sigma singapore for further info. www.sigma-marketing.com.sg

Thanks for the response. Hmmm... then I guess I have to live with it. Or wait for the new oly lenses to make my decision. Just wondering if the F2.0s will be launched anytime soon.

If u r a hardcore photog then settle for oly zuico digital lenses. I hope by this year end they gonna release the other brighter lenses, but surely gonna cost a fortune.

I don't think there is ANY reason to get the 18-50mm f2.8 lens for $800. For the same price you can get the oly 14-54 mm which is MUCH better I think. Never used the 18-50mm f2.8 but my experience with Sigma is that they are REAL soft wide open. and 18mm is not really wide when used in olympus DSLR.

Good point. But he might be feeling that oly is not constant f2.8 or might have used the sigma lenses before. 14-54 is weather sealed

Hi, thanks for all the responses. Wonderful. Yep, the reason why I am considering the Sigma 18-50 is for the constant F2.8. Of course the alternative is the new F2.0 constant from Oly themselves. Just dunno when that's going to be released. But I suspect that's gonna cost an arm and 2 legs.

According to this website,

http://www.4-3system.com/lenses/

only 4 sigma lens have oly mount... and for E1 and E300

Sigma 18-125mm f3.5-5.6 DC
Sigma 18-50mm f3.5-5.6 DC
Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC ASP IF
Sigma 55-200mm f4-5.6 DC

the zoom range fot the 18-200mm seems very good for general use, no need to switch lens..
dun know the performace though.

Dont tink the 18-200mm Sigma lens is released on the 4/3 mount. Think it was a mistake made by Sigma germany website.

Sigma doesnt have any plans yet to make the 18-200 with 4/3 mount. Sigma Germany site made a mistake. If you are looking for other mounts then sigma singapore website doesnt have info on 18-200.

Check the lens compatibility chart on the US site, all lens in the DC series fits on FT (Four-Thirds) mount.
