Hello, i went to a shop to enquiry on the D50 as well as a 55-200mm DX, he knew I am budget concerned so he recommended me a Sigma 70-300 Made in China, cost about $150, I can't seem to find such lens at this price on Singma website, does anyone know which lens on Signma website could be this one I am talking about?

Or someone can recommend an affordable telephoto lens for D50 for shooting wild life?

thanks

If you really want to, the new AF-S 70-300VR would be a good idea, else the 70-200VR.

Can get the 18-200mm VR or the 70-200mm VR + TC. 'Ho sey liao' :D :bsmilie:

I don't recommend the 18-200 for moving shots, but if for normal static shots of the animals lazing around would be ok. :D

Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO Macro is $330 last year. Non APO one is cheaper, but according to seller, non APO doesn't come into Singapore. I buy at TCW, 1 year shop warranty (consider as grey set). But it is written "Made in Japan" on the lens...

Regards,
Arto.

I have the 70-300 APO DG as well. It was a L... (lemon Lar)... :bsmilie:
Had got it serviced and re-cal by Sigma at Bukit Merah area... Working perfect now... Also made in Japan..

Strange I thought all Sigma lens are made in Japan. This is what they say on their webpage:

All Sigma products, lenses, cameras and flash units are manufactured exclusively by Sigma in Sigma’s own factory in Aizu, Japan. No Sigma Corporation product - lens, camera or flash -is manufactured outside of Japan. This is very unusual these days, as most companies have at least some of their products produced outside of Japan because of cost considerations.
