SINGAPORE AIRLINES LAUNCHES DEDICATED WEBSITE TO CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY
The Singapore Airlines Group is celebrating its 60th Anniversary from 1 May 2007, with the launch of a special dedicated site at singaporeair.com/60years.
Besides interactive games and activities with attractive prizes for participants, the website also chronicles the Airlines journey from its start, as Malayan Airways Limited on 1 May 1947.
The anniversary is an occasion to celebrate the Singapore Airlines Groups achievements. It gives the Airlines customers, staff and many alumni from around the world a forum to share their memories with others.
On the 60th Anniversary website, customers with cherished memories of their travels with Singapore Airlines can share their experiences and photos. Stories or photos can be uploaded onto the Singapore Airlines Travellers Tree.
Customers can submit their experiences with Singapore Airlines in five different categories humorous, touching, inspiring, adventurous or enjoyable. The participant with the best entry in each category will win a pair of Economy Class return air tickets to any Singapore Airlines destination.Visitors to the website can also participate in the Match In Time game, by correctly matching Singapore Airlines photos to the decade they were taken. Each participant who completes all the matches correctly will qualify for the grand draw to win an Economy Class return air ticket to any destination on the Singapore Airlines network. A total of 25 air tickets will be given away during this draw.

On 16 September 1963 when the Federation of Malaysia was born, the Airlines name was changed to Malaysian Airways Limited. In May 1966, a year after Singapores independence, the Airline became Malaysia-Singapore Airlines (MSA).
In 1972, MSA split to form two new entities Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airline System.
