hi guys,
how you determine shutter counts, how can you check?? by software or the camera itself? in the case of k10d or k100d, how to determine?

Check using the file number of each photo. If you are sure you have not snapped a lot, then it should be below 10K range. If not, look throught your previous photos, see if they have reached IMGP 9999.jpg. If they have, it means you are in the 10K and above range.

but i know that canon can view shutter count by the last picture taken using a proprietry software which can be downloaded..... maybe should check with shriro

Hi all.. anybody has any ideas how to find out the shutter count?

i format or erase my card everytime i finish dling my pics.. so.. hmmm.. the number resets itself..

I don't know how to find out the actual count but there is an option not to reset the number. I don't have the camera with me but it is under one of the menu options.

Not sure about other models but on the K10D it is possible to check if you can get into the service mode... but after firmware 1.10 the known key combination has changed and only Shriro knows how to access it.
