How would we know if you should take up? It's your own personal choice.

Work hard and save up :)

No, it's a path of no return...

Why do you think it's a financial issue?

Work hard to learn skills I mean :)

Save up to cure BBB virus. There is no cure actually :D

TS, once you pick up, it's almost more or less confirmed that it's a point of no return....and it's not cheap to buy "medicines" for the contagious BBB virus. Like Tucksoon mentioned, there is NO cure for this virus...

OTOH, if you are doubting if you should, then you shouldn't. Think carefully...

After some sound advices from bros here.

It's a point if no return n it's a new start to endless beginning.

Haha.have a great snapping weekend.

Not long ago I was in your position :)

Step 1: Work out a budget.
Step 2: Head down to shops and try out the cameras.
Step 3: Rent camera and lens to try.
Step 4: Reading up photography books/websites and watching YouTube video helps.
Step 5: Buying used DSLR/lens might be a good option too :)

Have fun! :)

bro, can try to also read this thread also if you are still deciding...All about compacts..Don't be too intimidated by the word "compacts". Photography is not all about DSLRs/SLT/Mirrorless/Flim cameras (or whatever they call it) :)

@SkyStrike , thanks for the tips.

Thanks guys for the support n advices.

If you really are not sure, start off with just a P&S, a simple digital compact camera first. Then if you think think you like to expand your photographic horizon, by all means.

The above replies telling you to not start, maybe a bit over the top. They assume you want to start with a dSLR. Remember, some professional photographers can take wonderful shots with a $300+ camera! So just go ahead and start shooting, but brush up on the theoretical side, else the pictures you take can result in disappointment.

Cheers!

Yes, it's up to you personally. You can't always let people tell you what to do. Follow your heart. If you get into this hobby, can ask me along. I am also a starter :D

Touch your heart are you really interested in photographing. If yes just do it

TS, no offence, but you need to make decisions with what you want to do in your life.

Pal, maybe you should ask yourself instead what you would like to do with this hobby. :)

Example: What do you want to achieve from this hobby*protrait/macro etc*

Cheers! :)
