Shooting studio shots

Hi,

Can nyone advise on the appropriate lens or technique for studio photoshoot....
I've just purchase a budget godox studio kit and backdrop set....
After taking shots, seems like wrinkle on gray muslin backdrop very2 obvious...
I'm using 450d and 18-135 lens on aperture f10-11...
Should I use larger aperture lens to blur the background? Like 50mm 1.8
Or usually photoshop do the magic...
Pls help... Will be trying out again maybe this weekend...

If you are going to shoot at f1.8, you'll need to set your studio strobe to match the 450D's max sync speed of 1/200s

Shooting at above 1/200s will cause a "blackout" in your images

And shooting at f1.8 may cause other problems due to the thin depth of field; you might have some parts of the subject/object out of focus

A garment steamer should work for the wrinkles. If you don't like the wrinkled muslin, a roll of seamless paper will be much easier to work with.

muslin backdrop is not meant for crease free, if you want wrinkle free you should get canvas backdrop, not muslin, but the cost of canvas is 3 to 4 times more expensive than muslin.

and no you can't use wide open aperture to blur out the backdrop.
to blur the backdrop, the distance of your subject to backdrop must be greater then the distance from camera to your subject, at least two to three times the distance, do you have that kind space to do set up this way?

anyway, you can try get steamer to remove the wrinkles muslin backdrop, it will not be 100% anyway.

or do a very flat lighting set up, like shooting direct flash with flash mount on camera hotshoe .
