When using slides, is it advisable to have them mounted?

If I want to scan and archive the slides but also be able to show them to friends, is it possible to use the slide projector using non-mounted slides?

For medium format slides, what are the opportunities as for slide projectors?

So far I know MF slide projectors are hugely more expensive to their 35mm counterparts... :dunno:

slide projectors need mounted slides...

if u want to scan, non mounted is the best way...

MF projectors hard to find and costly...

i read that the heat from projectors will cause/hasten colour loss on slides. is it true?
