Shooting portrait during rainy day?

Hi bros. Im wondering how can i shoot a portrait shot on a rainy day,
and could really see the background is raining? hmmm.........wonder you guys could help?

It's the same method. You think, you compose, you take the shot. Why should the rain limit you? Use it to your advantage. The only thing limiting you here is yourself.

but how to get this kinda shot? i tried and all i see was clear background. :cry:

Set your shutter speed higher

Care to share the settings you used? A shutter speed of about 1/60 should be able to bring out the rain drops

please don't ask for magic formula, there is none, it depends on how heavy the rain is, distance between you and your subject, any subject movement, and also lighting condition.
all about experiment, and the effect you want, just shoot and review.

Like what Benjamin mention in his earlier post. there is no magic formula.

it depend every much on the lighting, rain & equipment you had to create your intended effect.


Example below is a shot taken in the rain as well but had a completely different effect than Danny's example.
