Intimidated by Photoshop? Then, Photoshop Lightroom is the application for you. This course is designed for serious amateur and professional photographers who want a program that can managed their images, edit them in easy steps using industrial strength tools, and showcase their work - all in one software with an intuitive interface. Photoshop Lightroom is the professional photographer's essential toolbox from Adobe intended to process not only camera raw files from almost all digital cameras but also psd, jpeg, tiff and dng files.

What will be discussed:

- Lightroom work area, panels and tools
- Importing, managing, classifying and sorting images
- Editing images
- Exporting images to Photoshop
- Showcasing your portfolio via Slideshow and Web Gallery
- Color-managed printing
- Preview of Lightroom 2

Who should attend:

Serious amateur or professional photographers who are looking for software to integrate in their digital photography workflow.


To gain the most from this class, students should be familiar with Windows or Mac OS. Knowledge of Photoshop is NOT necessary.

What to bring:

- Participants should bring their own laptop with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. (A trial version of the program will also be made available)

- Sample images you want to bring into and edit in Lightroom.

Mariano "Jun" Miranda is the first Adobe Certified Expert and (ACE) Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) in Photoshop in Asia (2000). He is a CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+).

Photographer and Digital Artist: He is the principal photographer and Creative Director of PixelMagic, an imaging studio and service bureau he established in 1994. PixelMagic is one of the pioneers in digital imaging in the Philippines, servicing the graphic requirements of advertising agencies, photos studios, design studios and other corporate entities. It later on expanded to include photographic services for select corporate accounts.

He was the 66th president of the Camera Club of the Philippines, the oldest photography club in Asia. He was also the founding president of IdN Club Philippines, an organization of digital artists, designers, and photographers, which he helped established in 1997. In the same year, he joined the Advertising Photographers of the Philippines where he served as a Board Member in 2003. In 2005 he co-founded the Philippine's first organization of digital photographers Club de Camera Digital (CCD). He is also a member of the US-base National Association of Photoshop Professionals and in 1998, represented the Philippines in the Apple Computers' Customer Advisory Board (CAB) for East Asia.

He studied photography at the Maine Photographic Workshop digital imaging at the Kodak Center for Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine and New York's United Digital Artist.

Workshop Instructor and Seminar Lecturer: He is currently the Program director of Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI) where he also conducts several workshops and seminars in digital imaging and photography. Among the classes he teach are Basic Photography, Photoshop CS3 Basics, Advanced Photoshop CS3 for Photographers, Advanced Photoshop CS3 for Print Production, Fast track to Digital Photography, Adobe Lightroom, Fundamentals of Digital Imaging and Color Management, Digital Camera Fundamentals.

PCCI is the only Adobe Authorized Training Center, Apple Authorized Training Center, Corel Authorized Training Partner, Canon Digital Learning Center and the Wacom Authorized Training Center. This year, PCCI ranks 4th among the Adobe Authorized Training Centers in the world and 1st in Asia.

He has been conducting seminars and workshops in photography and digital imaging since 1996 through out the Philippines for Kodak Philippines, Epson Philippines and Apple Philippines. In 2007, he conducted seminars in PIX Singapore for Wacom. He has been a regular speaker in local events like Graphic Expo, IdN Seminar Series, and the PhotoCongress of Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP). He also conducted workshops and seminars for the Apple Conference (1993), PhotoWorld International (1998 and 2000), Print-on-Demand/Publishing Trade Show (1999), World's Presidents Organization (WPO)(2001), Apple Conference (2002), Printech (2002), National Information and Communications Technology Certification Program's CertifyIT (2003), COMDAPP (2005), PhilPrint (2006).

Writer: He is a regular contributor to a Philippine photography magazine i-mag photography. He writes regularly at the Manila Bulletin's photography section, where he has a column called Digital Focus. Before that, he also had a column at the Philippine Star. Both Manila Bulletin and Philippine Star are Philippine-based daily national newspapers. He has written several articles on digital imaging and digital photography for the publications of the IdN Philippines, the Camera Club of the Philippines and Vision, an Epson publication.

Academic Background: In additional to the numerous courses he took on digital imaging, photography and design, he is an AB and MBA graduate of De La Salle University.
