Im a newbiee, like to ask a Question: Usually what lens do you have to take those outdoor potrait shots. I have a 18-55mm kit lens and a 50mm 1.8II lens, 550D, can achieve your type of shots?

For portrait ones, I normally use my prime lens, 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm, though at times I use 70-200mm for compression.

You can use your 50mm lens wide open for the depth of field effect.
