Hi I bought Nikon 85mm 1.4 , how will you know if the lensi bought is not good copy ?

use tripod, make sure focus is right, then shoot at f/1.4, shoot at f/2.8, shoot at f/4, shoot at f/8

post pictures of the focus area here at 100% crop, untouched.

Wow.. that is not a cheap lens leh! :bigeyes:

Nikon lenses rarely have lemon copies compared to Canon. Especially the high-end ones like the 85mm f1.4. I am usually too lazy to check :(
 

When i bot my 85 1.4. The IQ of the lens is so pale. I almost given up my upgrade plan. But the salesman let me test another copy. Without changing the setting.. I saw big difference on IQ. So bot the 2nd copy. If u buy new one, best to have test at least 2 copy.. :)

Yes, this should be the fast way, or you can shoot on a resolution chart, but difficult to interpret...

Any given distance from the object?
What do you mean "crop it 100%"?
