Thats not a moth, its a butterfly. Moths (typically) have feathered antennae, this one does not. I'd hazard a guess, I think its a Striped Blue Crow (Euploea mulciber mulciber), probably a male.
Well i think the Prof is right...! Cos the simplest way to tell a moth from a butterfly is : a Moth opens up their wings while a Butterfly close their wings when in Rest. Some Moths may look like butterfly even without the feathered antennae.
