Eye é City is proud to present a bilingual photography sharing session led by distinguished photographers Mr Sha Ying and Mr Ray Chua, on 15 September at the Ngee Ann Cultural Centre Studio Room from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

Both speakers will engage the audience in an interactive discussion of past works submitted to Eye é City, with the objective of creating greater awareness and understanding of the event’s aims and vision. Participants of the sharing session can look forward to learn more about documentary photography techniques, and tips on how to take better and more meaningful photographs.

A supervising cameraman at a renowned international television station, Mr Sha Ying will share on the importance of photographic documentation for the memories and future reference of the individual, as well as the society. Titled From Moments to Memories, the speaker will also discuss the essential criteria involved in the evaluation and final selection of photographs by Eye é City judges.

Mr Ray Chua, a prominent photographer of Lianhe Zaobao, will speak on the topic Is Documentary Photography your Cup of Tea?. The speaker will recount his own experience in taking photographs in Singapore and Australia, as well as discuss about the issues and challenges that many documentary photographers face today.

PS: Participants of Eye é City 2006 whose works were exhibited at the National Library can collect the prints back during the sharing session. Participants who have yet to collect their CD/Negatives can do so too.
