Well, 1st post. n00b needing help. Hope this is the right section. *waves hi*
Need some suggestions to complete my setup.
Camera: 500D + 18-200mm
(and the 50mm f1.8)
In future, possibly looking at:
10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM
17-55mm f2.8 IS USM
100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM or 70-200mm f4L IS USM
Already purchased:
extra Canon battery
Cokin P holder + 0.6 GND Filter + 72mm adaptor ring
Need feedback and alternative suggestions for:
Tripod (budget $200-$300):
Was recommended SLIK PRO 340BH by Cathay Photo (quoted $201) when I requested something that's rated higher than 2kg load. Had looked at Benro's Travel Angel series at Peninsula Shopping Centre but the display sets had faulty legs (not too impressive, cannot judge properly) :sweat:
Requirements: Mainly for ease of travel.
Sling bag (budget $100-$200):
Thinking of Tamrac Velocity 8x or Velocity 9x.
Requirements: Looking mainly for a sling bag that could be carried and reached easily either in front or at the back when traveling. This way, even when traveling from point to point, I can still reach or keep the camera in an instant. Velocity seems to be the only one that does this. Downside is the inability to carry a tripod so I guess that goes with the clothes in my backpack (no big deal). Any alternatives to look at?
The items may be a bit overkill(?) for 500D + 18-200mm but I'm hoping to build in some future-proofness so that there's no need to keep buying.
