High, can anyone give me a guide on what settings I should use for a school play. I making the assumption that I will be too far away for the flash to be affective.
I have a D80 with 135mm Lens. Should increasing the ISO be sufficient?

Any tips appreciated

Maybe "P" (for "Professional"... :bsmilie: hahah...) mode, with +0.7EV. If you're using the in-built flash, I think really not enough. But if you're using an mounted flash, can try. Perhaps those with a flash diffuser affixed would give better results. ISO, maybe about 400, or max 800 should do the trick.

If you wanna try "M" (for "MY"... :bsmilie: hahahah..) mode, maybe can try MAX Aperture, with a Shutter time of between 5s - 1/4s. ISO the same.

Else, just leave ISO in Auto...
