Hi, I am planning a 10 days free & easy trip to Nepal in October this year. I am not so much into hiking/trekking as my main objective is to take photo of the locals and those nice landscapes / scenic places around Nepal. Would appreciate if anyone can recommend those 'must visit places' and share any photo taken during your Nepal trip. Thanks

I did pre-book the hotels in kathmandu (Hotel Ganesh Himal), Nagarkot (Peace cottage hotel), Chitwan(Sapana) and Pokhara(The scared Inn valley).
Im doing as a backpack and doesn't have tour agency. Nepal is tourist friendly and most route are easy plan. Should you backpack, stick to Greenline tourist bus as they have better drivers and attendant. I try those cheaper tourist buses and really increase your blood pressure.
I also engage a full day taxi driver at Kathmandu, mainly for places like Patan, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot. Should you need the driver number, do pm me. (Please note the driver is a very old uncle and cant speak english or very very very simple english. He offer very reasonable rate but to neg. the price with him.)

Thanks NoiNoi, these are definitely great information to help my planning. It will be great if you can give me the taxi number and how do you make the hotel booking? How do you rate those hotels you have stayed? Do you have any photo to share for those places you have visited?
Besides the old taxi driver, do you have problem communicating with the people without a local guide? What about the health and safety over there? I did some research on safety in nepal, it seems that the crime rate is increasing. But it will be good if you can also share your opinions here. Once again, thanks for sharing

My Rating: The operation manager (Naran) is very friendly and helpful. He is the one who managed to secure a bus ticket back to kathmandu during the strikes. Nice place, nice dinning area. Food is a little expensive, which is similar to our food court pricing.

My Rating. Nice and cool place. Food price a little expensive but overall very nice hotel. The owner is another extremely kind person who ask us to hide into his house during the strikes period. The best part is we have already check out the hotel 1 day ago.

Pickpocket might be so call the major crime there, so just take care of your belonging. When come to strikes, better stay inside the hotel as the whole country will stop all transportation(basically no traffic on the road). Don't join in the strikes or photograph them.
