Seek Help on non-Nikon lens using for D70

Hi all,

Facing an "error" message when connecting the following 3 lenses to Nikon D70 in both Auto and Manuel mode. Can't shoot at all.

1. Tokina ATX Pro 20-35mm F2.8 (Gold ring)
2. Tokina ATX Pro 28-70mm F2.6-2.8 (1st version with Gold Ring)
3. Tokina ATX 80-200mm F2.8 (Red ring version, just before Gold Ring release)

All above lenses work fine with Nikon F801s

When connecting the lens kit AFS 18-70 to D70, it works prefectly, even connect the Nikon MF 85 F1.4, no metering infomation on LCD, but at least can shoot.

I think Nikon declare only support orginal lens, but I saw the many people also using 3rd party lens, but I think all those 3rd party lens are AF-D compatible. Please give me some idea and comment, thanks

Did you set the aperture ring to the smallest opening for the lens to work?
