Seeing Light COL gathering
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all supporters of B&W photography....
For the long supporters of Circle of Light, you may have attended our gatherings in Epsite Gallery in the past where there were distinguished speakers talking about photographic topics and followed by a print critique.
Sorry for the long disappearance from the scene. Today, we will re-kindle this popular gathering cum print critique starting in October 2007.
The details of the gathering are:
Date : 13 Oct 07, Saturday
Time : 2 to 4.30pm
Venue: Minds Cafe at Boat Quay
Charges : $10 per person (you will get free flow of Ice Tea and covered all admin expenses for the gathering)
Programmes:
2-3pm Speaker 1 : Mathew Ang
"Infra Red : How not to get red.....!!"
3-4pm Speaker 2 : Lester Lesdesma
"Travel photograhy....The world outside the NATAS travel fair....!!!"
We're delighted to have with us 2 speakers this month for the gathering....
Speaker 1 : Mr Mathew Ang (aka Deadpixel)
Mathew is more well known as the GURU of infra red photography in the local community. His knowledge of Infra red has been synonmous with his name. Having spend many years understanding and experimenting with this genre of photography, he has refined this artform to make it popular in the local community. His adventurous nature went on to take him to experiment with modification of existing digital cameras to be devoted to pure IR photography. All his hard work had paid off with the community as we see the high level of standard exhibitied during the recent Infra City Photo Exhibition at National Library at Bras Basah.
Mathew will be sharing his knowledge of how to shoot IR photos, not just digital but also in the realms of film. He will also touch on how your cameras could be modified to take IR as a purist artform.
Speaker 2 : Lester Lesdesma
Many people may not be familiar with Lester in Singapore. But his names has over the years appeared in the pictorials in the various tourism magazaine and inflight magazine of the regional airlines. Currently, the photo editor with a regional lifestyle magazine, Lester is a well known name in editorial and travel photography in the region. the award winning photographer will be sharing his experience and knowledge about the travel photography trade and also the potential of this form of photography and its marketability in the regional context.
