Hi, I wan to check with you guys what screen protectors do you use for your cameras as I need one for my k7. I had used a Martin fields for my k10d. I prefer this type of simple plastic film protector and the best part is that it fits the screen exactly. Unfortunately, they do not have one for the k7. I was open to cutting it myself to get the exact fit but the rounded corners is not easy to cut precisely without any specialised tool. The only one I see around is the GGS glass type. Anyone has experience with this? Does it fit precisely? Didn't quite anticipate getting a screen protector can be such a headache. :( Thanks.

I don't think my choice fit your conditions, but just for kicks, i seld cut the $2 screen protectors from daiso. Anyway, I'm looking at the pictures within the lcd, not the lcd itself :bsmilie:

I used those Daiso stuff as well. I had a big piece leftover...I just cut off the sharp corners. It looks terrible. But it is usable.

I didn't bother much about the screen protector, mine is a $3 one, serve the purpose.

i have a glass protector as well, cost just a bit more than $12. So far it has worked well since I haven't had a big knock on the screen yet, but I presume it will protect against knocks while the film screen protectors just protect from scratches, which personally isn't a big deal to me apart from resale value. I guess good thing is that you won't have bubbles when applying but the bad thing is that if you stick it a bit wrongly it will be impossible to reposition it.

One more up for Daiso!

One big piece for $2, cut to fit all the different screens and still got leftover. Don't like just cut another piece and change.

where did u buy the glass protector from? does it fit in for kx?

I think it was from ebay because there were no mass sellers that carried one that fit the K20D. You should ensure that it fits your camera correctly. If they don't advertise for the K-x then it's best you take a ruler to measure carefully and compare with other camera models. :)

i know gss have one for k20d but not sure about k7. i was looking for one too but unfortunately all the shops i asked have beed sold out.

so sadly left with no choice and wanting to prevent damages on my k7 i opt for the normal one at manly in chinatown during the last outing. the gentleman (forget to ask his name ;p) was kind enough to do it for me.

imho i think he does it far better then me if i jus buy one and diy myself

I use scotch tape. :bsmilie:

Nothing on my screen, or maybe the previous owner already applied it on already. :dunno:
No damage to my screen so far. A few scratches won't hinder viewing. Guess I'm one of the few people who treat equipment as equipment. That's why I like gadgets built like a tank. :bsmilie:

Hahaha... I thought I'm the only one

GGS.

for k20d, fits precisely.

GGS got my vote too :) I didn't use any screen protector on my cameras at all, until I got a faint scratch mark on my K7 screen. Now I have the GGS installed, and think the money spent (I paid less than $10sgd for it) is really worth it.
