Scanning question...

What is the difference between scanning a 1 inch by 1 inch photo at 300dpi pixels and scanning a 2 inch by 2 inch photo at 150dpi?
Both will produce a 300X300 pixel file...
Scanning using a normal scanner...
Is there any difference?

the resulting output will both be 300x300 image.
