scanner for pix...which to buy?

Can anyone recommend a gd scanner to buy for scanning pics?...hopefully it will not be more than $250

criteria:
- accurate n sharp
- quiet n fast

how about my film scanner ?

I'm selling a HP photosmart SCSI film scanner for $300.

comes with the scsi cable and the scsi card

Are you planning to scan prints? If yes, may I suggest Epson's 1250!
