Scanner @ airports film-safe?

I'm going to Melbourne at the end of the month.
Thinking of bringing some films to shoot during my trip.

I would like to ask people here, is x-ray scanner in the Singapore airport and in Melbourne, film-safe?
If not, anything I need to buy to protect the films?

i believe there are words on the scanners that say "FILM-SAFE"

but if you're paranoid, you can try to request for a visual inspection for the film cartridges.

Most of the scanners at the airport are film safe actually, can just double check with the security personnel

Hmm. I heard that there's a bag that you can put your films in it to protect it from the scanners.

Is there such a thing?
If yes, where can I buy it? :dunno:

cathay carries the domke ones.
if paranoid, just hand carry and get the customs to hand-chk.

don't waste people time lar, the lead bag will show a black hole on the X ray scanners, 100% they ask you to open up the luggage bag, take out the contents from the lead bag to see what is inside.

if you don't want to go thru scanner, you can try remove all the film from canister, put it into a transparent plastic zip lock bag, hang it at your neck, pass it to the custom officers to ask for hand inspection.

if he is in good mood, he will take a look and hand it back to you. if he is not in a good mood, will ask you to throw it into a tray and go thru the X ray machine.

i have not encounter any airport scanner machine which is not film safe... my films turns out ok...

anyway film should be easily available in Oz... why worry, just go buy some there...

You can try to hand carry the film.

But most places the film will die-die have to go through the airport scanner.

I e-mail Changi Airport and they told me the scanners are film safe.
