Hi peeps

I shot with my D700 and SB900, set it to TTL mode, but sometimes the SB900 wont fire off. May I know if there is anything wrong ?

Check the pins, are the pins in good condition?

look at the contact pins n see if they r damaged externally.

btw, from wad i had found online, it may be due to a loose hot shoe of ur d700

at the mean time, try the flash on other bodies if u have spare ones to see if it has the same problem.

Sorry for asking the obvious, but is the flash ready (the red ready light on) when you fire the next shot?

Must be low on batt... more time to recharge the flash for the next shot. SB900 has an extra batt pack right?

this is a sign of low battery ? I only took 200plus shots and I'm using fully charged eneloop batteries

What about the temperature displayed on the LCD? Did you hear any warning beep from the flash when pressing the shutter release? SB900 can overheat when fired at full power repeatedly. Once the temperature is above the thermal cut-off threshold it would not fire.

Yup sounds like a hotshoe contact problem. Try cleaning both the flash's contact pins and the hotshoe's contact pads.
