hi all..

i JUST dropped my sb600.. and think i damaged it real bad.. the flash does not fire and the motor mechanism has a cranking sound when i try to zoom the flash head..

the set is no longer covered by warranty.. wanna see if any of you had similar experiences.. and to see how much (and is it worth it?) to get it repaired at nikon service centre..

or am i better off throwing it away..?

you can get a 2nd hand sb600 for abt 300 plus
if the repair cost is more than that, might as well get a 2nd hand 1 lor

I think it's time to leave it. Get a sb-600 or -800 or -900. Up to you if you want a 2nd hand or a new one.
What you have damaged are the 2 most important things in flash. And I doubt repair motors can be affordable. Just my 2cents..

Time to invert your SB "6"00 to SB900.;)

also.. are there any experts here who fixes flash heads for a fee? =)

I dun think so...

Bring it for a check at NSC and as mentioned already, ask for a quote before they do anything else.

Else consider a new one...
