was at Tsurumidai (鶴見台) the crane sanctuary in Hokkaido, took some shots of resident Red-crowned Cranes (Sarurun Kamui) despite the heavy snow. Sarurun Kamui means God of the Marsh in Ainu language. Ainu people are the earliest known inhabitants of Hokkaido and some surrounding areas. more shots on my gallery as well.

like the second thread action shots, very elegant bird. Excellent shot. Not much contrast with the background though, which kind of makes pictures in first thread like Chinese watercolor painting. Nice!

yes the snow was very heavy and that reduced the contrast alot, had to bump it up abit during post processing. and most of the time the snow was flying towards the observation area, making the shoot quite an experience :bsmilie:
