Sandisk Extreme III Card Reader

hi all, is there any difference between the extreme III card reader from sandisk and the average card reader u can get from almost any electronics store?

The Sandisk Extreme III USB reader can easily exceed 10Mb/sec whereas most of those $10 ones usually chug along at 2-4Mb/sec. Also the cheap ones tend to crap out easily especially SD readers.

yes, very fast and reliable, no sudden disconnects.

woOt! yea, i saw pc show selling it at $39. i dunno whether i got a misquote, but i bought mine from ms colour at $25 2mths back. they had 2pcs left. should've bought both.

Hey kzone, mine's the USB version. That's the new MSRP.

I went down to MSColour 2 weeks back and they told me it's all sold out.

Good buys at the SanDisk booth would be the ok priced Extreme III and Ultra SD and CF Cards...

I bought a ExtremeIII 2GB SD card instead, no free reader but free keyring.

for those who doesnt want to jostle with the crowd.. Found out Lords have stocks for the Extreme III Card Reader as well, at $45

Most prob gonna get the 4GB Ultra II, so might just live with the free card reader. Anyone knows if the free reader performs anywhere close to the extreme III reader?
