Salary range for fresh graduate in IT

What's the salary range for a fresh graduate in IT in the market at the moment?

2K - 3K ??

really depends... with honours??... Big firms like Accenture offer consultants think close to 3k for a start... programmer level lower... think about 2-2.2k...
with specialised skills like .Net Developer can get 2.2kto 2.5k ba.... if not general IT job think 1.7k to 2k.... IT market picking up..

i suggestion is to browse through Jobstreet and Jobsdb... from there you will get a rough guide on the salary range... not forgetting the requirements by employers
IT very wide... decide on which area you wanna stay in the long run and focus on it lor...

More realistic figure is still what I've typed out so far.

Fresh grad for local unis..generally $1.8k to $2.3 k. Hons degree graduate shld b able to get 2k and above..i believe engine or IT grads will get higher than $2.3. I'm getting on the lower end 2k for a non IT grads at public service sector. Hope that helps

My friend fresh grad... work in ermm... very famous software company in the WHOLE WORLD (CEO is the richest man on Earth) starting 2.1K SGD. :bigeyes:

espn.. your figures a bit bit too low lei.. my friends with fresh poly dip already getting $1.4 - $1.6 some lucky ones with bigger firms got $1.8.. non IT uni grads with with BSc deg getting $2.2 for start also..

Depends on local or foreign U, honours no honours.

Eg. my fren local NTU IT honours fresh can get 2.8 in big local SI firm.

I feel sometimes choosing which IT field to go into is more important than how much is 1st salary leh, choosing in demand field salary can multiply x times in few short years.
